Between 1973 and 1986 between 770 of these classic Masthead sloops were built in the USA by Islander Yachts.
This Islander masthead sloop is ready to cruise.
This well laid out vessel provides wide clear access while walking the decks and has a spacious cockpit.
Decks are moulded anti-skid surfaces and in good condition
The decks are secured with tubular Stainless Steel bow and stern pulpits, side stanchions with upper and lower plastic coated wire lifelines.
Most mainsail handling lines are led aft to a Lewmar 40 winch and twin Lewmar 48 self tailing winches
A 15kg Rocna anchor is positioned on at the bow roller and has 100' of 5/16" chain and 200' of 5/8" nylon rode stored in the self draining chain locker with a Simpson Lawrence vertical windlass. A spare 10kg Danforth anchor with 200' of rode is secured in the aft cockpit locker.
The hull above the waterline appears to be in good condition other than a blemish at the lower end of the transom.
The Islander 36 is a hull round bilge, light displacement sailboat fibreglass with a cast lead fin keel.
Steerage is provided by a wheel driven GPR spade type rudder with a stainless steel rudder post supported by a rudder keg moulded to the hull.
The Perkins 4-108 diesel engine was rebuilt in 2015 and has approximately 250 hrs of use.
Fuel is carried in a 100 litre alloy tank secured under the cockpit and filtered with a Racor fuel system.
Power is provided with 2 x 6V lead acid batteries and 2 xGroup 24 12v house batteries.
DC Wiring meet ABYC standards and fusing. Batteries are charged via the engine alternator and 2 x 100 watt solar panels mounted on the stern Stainless Steel arch.
A new Blue Seas 120v panel has been installed and a galvanic Isolator protects the vessel from degradation while in marinas.
The galley is equipped with a Hillerange Marine two burner stove with a solenoid on/off switch.
the propane tank is mounted in the aft cockpit lazaret
There is a Paloma on demand hot water heater under the sink in the galley.
Three plastic tanks with a total capacity of 100 gallons provide pressurized water.
An ice box rounds out the galley
The Jabsco marine toilet and head sink are connected directly to thru hull valves and as there is no holding tank, are not in compliance with transports Canada requirements.
The vessel was fitted with a wood burning stove which has been removed, but the topside funnel is still in place.
The vessel is equipped with a manual Whale Gusher bigger pump and a Johnson 500GPH 12v pump with a float switch forward of the engine.
The most recent surveys completed in December 2017 shows the boat to be in good condition for a vessel of it's age.
The survey noted recommendations, with most addressed by the present owner.
